AMCNO Members Needed for CWRU School of Medicine Networking Event

The Academy of Medicine of Cleveland & Northern Ohio (AMCNO) is hosting a medical student networking event with the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, from 6 – 8 p.m. at the school. The event is called “Physicians Are Linked with Students” or PALS.

During the event, second-year medical students will sit at various tables headed by a physician who will talk about his or her specialty for 8 minutes (e.g., what the position entails, best/worst part of it, etc.). Students will also be given a chance to ask questions during this time. An alarm will sound once the 8 minutes are up, and the students will move to the next physician table for another 8 minutes, and so on, until all students have spoken with all of the attending physicians.

We are looking for physicians to participate in this event. It has been successful in other states that also have a medical association, and it is a great opportunity for you to meet these young students and help give them guidance in their studies.

If you would be interested in participating in this event, please contact the AMCNO offices at 216-520-1000, ext. 102, or email Tara Camera at tcamera@amcno.org. Please also indicate your specialty. Keep in mind: We are trying to feature numerous specialties. If you do sign up, and then your schedule changes, let us know as soon as possible so that we can try to schedule another physician from your area of expertise. Once your attendance is confirmed, we will send you additional information about the event, including location and parking.

It should be a fun evening for all parties involved! It’s a simple way to connect with students, and it’s great for them to hear from you and the AMCNO. We hope you will get involved.
