AMEF and AMCNO to Sponsor Opioid Use Conference

The Academy of Medicine Education Foundation (AMEF) and the AMCNO are pleased to join MetroHealth’s Project DAWN and the Cuyahoga County Board of Health in sponsoring a conference to be held at MetroHealth on September 23, 2015.  The conference entitled “Opioid Use Disorder, Associated Stigma and How to Utilize Key Prevention Tools” is free and CME will be available.   This conference is for doctors, nurses, social workers, and other health care professionals. Topics of discussion include a background on opioid use disorder, an overview of evidence-based treatments, and stories of recovery; motivational interviewing; the benefits of naloxone access and prescribing; OARRS utilization; MetroHealth's Opioid Prescribing Policy; and a keynote from Sam Quinones, author of Dreamland: The True Tale of America's Opiate Epidemic.

This free conference will be held in MetroHealth's Scott Auditorium on 9/23/15 from 9a-5p. Breakfast, lunch, and beverages will be offered.  To view more about this event or to register click here..
