AMEF Awards Scholarships to Local Medical Students, Supports Community and Physician Education Efforts

The Academy of Medicine Education Foundation (AMEF) works with the community on several levels, and has for many years, since its inception as the charitable arm of the AMCNO.

At the recent AMCNO Annual Meeting, six medical students each received a $5,000 scholarship from the Academy of Medicine Education Foundation (AMEF). The recipients were chosen by the AMEF Board among numerous applications.

The AMEF does more than provide medical student scholarships. Funds raised, primarily through the AMEF’s annual golf outing (see the previous item in this email for more information and to register), also provide support for local educational programs for physicians and their staff as well as assistance to these groups to help their patients achieve better health outcomes through the implementation of new initiatives. More than $1.7 million has been raised for scholarships and programs since the foundation was created.
