The Impact of Medical Marijuana on Ohio’s Workers’ Compensation System is Limited

The legalization of medical marijuana will take effective Sept. 8, 2016, per House Bill 523. The law does not specifically address reimbursement for medical marijuana that’s been recommended for injured workers, but Ohio law does already have rules and statutes in place that limit what medications are reimbursable by the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation.
