AMCNO’s Vote and Vaccinate Program Provides a Public Service on Election Day

On Election Day each November, the Academy of Medicine of Cleveland & Northern Ohio (AMCNO) hosts the Vote & Vaccinate program. This annual program is co-sponsored by St. Vincent Charity Medical Center and encourages voters to get vaccinated against seasonal influenza (flu). This year’s event will take place Tuesday, Nov. 8, at Marion Sterling School from 9 am to 2 pm.

Guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) indicate that November and December are ideal months for effective immunization against flu for all age groups. It is important for those who are considered at high risk (particularly the elderly and those who are chronically ill) to get immunized.

Voters need to bring their Medicare Part B card with them and present it before they receive their vaccination. Otherwise, flu shots are being provided free-of-charge by St. Vincent Charity Medical Center. A nurse or pharmacist will be administering the shots.

The Pollen Line is now closed. See you in the spring!
