Ohioans Moving to Statewide Managed Care Plans in January; Providers to Bill Services Accordingly

Beginning January 2017, more Ohioans will be able to access their health benefits through one of Ohio’s five statewide Managed Care Plans, in an effort to improve health outcomes and to better manage care. Once individuals are enrolled in one of these plans, providers should begin billing the plans and not the state. Providers who do not have contracts with Managed Care Plans may be able to provide services to current patients for a transition period.
