AMCNO and AMEF Meet New Medical Students at CWRU School of Medicine Society Dean Mixer

The AMCNO and Academy of Medicine Education Foundation (AMEF) were pleased to once again co-host the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine Society Dean Mixer for first-year medical students at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens.

Several AMCNO members attended the event, including AMCNO President Dr. Fred Jorgensen, Immediate Past President Dr. Robert Hobbs, President-Elect Dr. R. Bruce Cameron, Past President Dr. William Seitz, and AMCNO Board Member Dr. Pauline Kwok. They mingled with the students and society deans, and discussed the organizations’ current activities. Many students expressed interest in the organizations and several had questions about their career and specialty choices, which the AMCNO leadership addressed, and other students wanted to learn more about volunteer work with the AMEF.

As a guest speaker, Dr. Fred Jorgensen talked to the students about the work of the AMCNO and the AMEF as well as the benefits of being an AMCNO member as a medical student, and he welcomed all of them to the profession.

AMCNO staff was on-hand to provide membership information, and we are happy to report that more than 130 medical students signed up for membership. We welcome them to the organization!

You can view photos from the event on the AMCNO Facebook page.
