Live Play Touches on Heavy Subject of the Well-Being of Burned Out Physicians

In response to the pandemic and heightened challenges faced by health providers, the New Theater of Medicine has created a live streaming play about physician suicide, called Five Days to Friday.

The story follows a prominent general surgeon and chief resident as they attempt to navigate a week of familiar challenges related to their professional and personal life.

Two shows will be available via Zoom: May 10, from 7 – 8:30 pm, and May 12, from 8 – 9:30 am.

The New Theater of Medicine is a partnership between a professional theater artist and a physician, who create theatrical plays about aspects of medicine that are then enacted by professional actors. Their work has traveled the country, and internationally in support of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) programming in locations such as Prague and Hong Kong.
