The Office of Health Transformation (OHT) Releases Preliminary Health IT Strategy

The Governor's Office of Health Transformation (OHT) recently conducted a formal health information technology assessment and identified near-term opportunities to use technology to improve health system performance. That process resulted in a preliminary HIT strategy that identifies four priorities for state action: share useful payer data to help providers improve, reinforce and accelerate care coordination, improve usability and access to data, and use Big Data to improve programs and policies. The ultimate goal is to generate value by providing the right information in the right place at the right time to improve performance transparency, care coordination, operational efficiency, clinical and non-clinical decisions and patient engagement.
