From Columbus

  • Ohio families now have a new at-home test that checks for the flu, COVID-19 and RSV all at once. The Flowflex Plus 4-in-1 test, recently announced by ACON Laboratories, is available at major retailers such as CVS and Walgreens.

From Washington

  • New analysis from Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) found that adults ages 50 to 64, particularly women, are likely to be hit hard by new federal Medicaid work requirements.
  • The National Institutes of Health (NIH) this week opened a research office in East Palestine to study the health impacts of the 2023 Norfolk Southern train derailment.
  • Sen. Warren (D-Massachusetts) and Sen. Hawley (R-Missouri) have introduced the  “Break Up Big Medicine Act” prohibiting parent companies from owning a medical provider or management services organization and a PBM or insurer.
  • The Trump Administration has revoked a scientific finding that had served as the basis for U.S. action to regulate greenhouse gas emissions and fight climate change.
